Decide everyday if you would like to take part on the cycle tour, a relaxing walk, an exciting stroll through the port towns of the Adriatic Sea or just lounge on board. Discover the Kvarner Bay in your way – the countless landscapes and architectural beauties.
Travelling with you- a local guide will help you anytime to include possible activities and sightseeing into your holiday or how to relax even more. You will get information about the basic history, fairy tales and cultural treasures in order to get more insight about the history of the country. This versatile journey has wonderful opportunities to be enjoyed each day, i.e. a daily jump from the boat directly into the sea.
Itinerary and Highlights
- Day 1 (Sunday) Omišalj – Opatija Riviera
Individual arrival in Omišalj on the Island Krk. From 11 am onwards you may board the motor sailor. At 1.30pm the ship will leave and cruise to Opatija at the Opatija Riviera - one of the more glamorous holiday regions of Croatia. Along the 12km long seafront with its noble hotels we will reach Lovran. From there the boat will cruise over to Cres the same named island capital. An evening stroll will round off the day.
(approx. 2h on foot) - Day 2 Islands Cres and Lošinj
In the morning sail to Osor, the start point for today’s cycle tour. On the guided tour you will get to know about the Argonauts of this region, why there are no snakes on Lošinj and why the marten is still a favored currency in Croatia. After lunch the bay of Osor with its crystal clear water invites for a swim. In the afternoon we will leave Osor by bicycle across a swing bridge. We will reach Island Lošinj. Along a panoramic route you will cycle to the old seafarer- and health resort Mali Lošinj with its big dock, countless cafes and colorful houses. For those who are prepared to spend a quiet afternoon may as well enjoy the cruise to Mali Lošinj aboard.
(1h on foot / cycle tour approx. 21 km/13 mi.) - Day 3 Islands Lošinj and Molat
Along the wide seafront and many picturesque bays we will reach the most southern part of the island and visit the small town Veli Lošinj. The tiny port with its countless fishing boats is dominated by the massive church of St. Anton. On the way a stop at the Blue World Institute - for the protection of the maritime species and especially dolphins - is included. Different exhibitis and presentations will inform about the intelligence of the marine mammals - maybe they will even convince you to adopt a dolphin. After lunch the ship will sail to the flower island of Molat on which a small cycle cruise is planed as well as the overnight stay.
(2h on foot/ cycle tour approx. 10 km/6 mi.) - Day 4 In the morning the ship sail to the spice island of Dugi Otok. The bay of Božava is covered by pine forests, graves and tamarisks. The cycle tour will start on an quiet road to the picturesque port of Savar where we will meet the boat for lunch. Afterwards the boat sail to the south of the island to the nature park of Telaš#ica. A walk along the famous Silverlake (location for the film version of Winnetou) will impress with its cliffs.
(2h on foot/ cycle tour approx. 15 km/9 mi) - Day 5 Island Pag
At lunch time we will reach the Island Pag. The brusque but charming landscape of this island presents many fig – and olive trees. Over centuries countless stone walls were built by the inhabitants to protect from the wind. We will cycle from Novalja along the slowly narrowing peninsular along the sea to Lun. From here we will cruise over to Rab. On the way there will be a possibility to visit an old olive oil press – here you will obtain more insight into the production of olive oil. Moreover a tasting of the Pagan cheese (if available) will be offered during this cycle tour. Cross over to Island Rab - one of the sunniest places in Europe. During the medieval times the same named island capital was established on a wedge-shaped headland - one of the highlights of this tour. The four bell towers emboss the image of this romantic town. After dinner the narrow alleys are waiting for you to discover them.
(cycle tour approx. 20 km/12 mi.) - Day 6 Islands Rab, Sveti Grgur and Krk
A stroll in the morning will lead you along the promenade through the Dundo forest - a hundred year old durmast oak forest in the bay of Sveti Mara. With the jollyboat you will be brought to Sveti Grgur. During the times of Titos a security jail house for woman was situated here – some ruins will still remember of the history. After a break for a swim, the cruise will continue to Krk town where a city tour is offered.
(2h on foot) - Day 7 Islands Krk and Cres
After breakfast we will cycle from Krk town to Glavotok where the ship will await us to cruise over to the Island Cres. From Beli - one of the oldest refuge fort villages of the island - we will walk to the care station for griffon vultures. Learn about the white headed birds while the griffon vultures will circle high above your heads. In the afternoon we will cross over to Omišalj. A last dinner will give everybody the opportunity to say good bye to guides and crew.
